Numerous studies show that over the past 10 years in Russia there is a steady trend of deteriorating health among young people, including students. According to the Ministry of Health and Social Development, only 10% of students in the education system are healthy, 49% are at risk and 40% have pathological deviations. Regular medical examinations of undergraduate students show that on average there are 1-2 chronic diseases per student.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the results of the conducted research can be used in determining the theoretical foundations for organizing a healthy lifestyle for university students as conditions for their professional training (prerequisites, factors, principles, content, features, conditions, criteria).
Practical significance. A model for organizing a healthy lifestyle for university students has been developed and tested; the criteria and assessment apparatus can be used to assess the effectiveness of organizing a healthy lifestyle for students at a university as a condition for their professional training.
Research materials. The research was conducted in the Naberezhnye Chelny branch of the University of Management «TISBI», Naberezhnye Chelny, Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
Research methods: analysis of Russian scientific and methodological literature, educational documentation, pedagogical observation, psychological and pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment, expert assessment method, methods of mathematical statistics.
Results. The obtained results of the determined level of organization of healthy lifestyle in the university prove our assumption that the structural and functional model of students’ healthy lifestyle organization in the university as a condition of their professional training developed and implemented by us is effective, since positive changes have occurred. The unevenness of the indicators, as well as their low level, rather indicates the inadequacy of organizational measures, the need to continue work in this direction, since the hypothesis was confirmed and we received positive results.
Conclusion. The process of organizing students’ healthy lifestyle at the university should be based on the concept of the individual physical culture formation; on the application of various forms of health-saving activities; on the use of innovative forms of education, including the use of information and communication technologies; on the individualization of training depending on the motivation of students, their state of health; taking into account psychological parameters and lifestyle, etc.
