The purpose of the research is to optimize the process of pre-competition preparation of female tennis players at the stage of improving sportsmanship, taking into account the identified parameters of the content and load of training sessions in the preparatory microcycles of the competitive period.

Methods and organization of the research. During the process of pedagogical observation, the timing of training sessions was carried out, the data of which made it possible to determine the volume of exercises of different directions. At each training session of the training microcycle, the athletes' heart rate was recorded and processed using Polar Pro Team software.

Research results and discussion. Analysis and systematization of the internal load parameters of training sessions in the preparatory microcycle revealed their insufficient size. The resulting index of the Ruffier – Dixon test, carried out the day before the training session, corresponded to good performance and load tolerance, which confirmed the insufficient intensity of the training exercises performed. Such indicators of the load value of training sessions are more consistent with the recovery microcycle. Based on the obtained percentage ratio of the volumes of training exercises of various types, a seven-day training microcycle was developed and recommended for implementation in the process of sports training of tennis players.

Conclusion. The introduction of the proposed version of the preparatory microcycle into the training process made it possible to increase the total amount of the load performed and ensure its developmental effect.
