The purpose of the research – to study the professional activities of general practitioners and, based on the data obtained, to draw up a professional profile for workers in this medical specialty.
Methods and organization of research. The following research methods were used: a survey in which 84 general practitioners took part, an expert assessment of medical industry specialists (n=6), as well as a method of professionography for a detailed description of the profession of a general practitioner.
The research results and their discussion. As a result of the conducted multilevel research, a professionogram was developed based on three main sections: 1. Characteristics of the production process and methods of work with their description, features of the organization and work regime; 2. The specifics of the requirements for working conditions and occupational hazards; 3. Requirements for the level of development of physical qualities and motor abilities, functional abilities, psychological and personal qualities.
Conclusion. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in modern realities the profession of a general practitioner plays a leading role in maintaining the health of the population. However, the specifics of this specialty suggest that doctors are daily exposed to a working environment, which will inevitably have a negative impact on the body, reducing labor efficiency. Therefore, the professionogram we have developed can serve as a tool that allows us to design the practical academic discipline «Elective disciplines in physical culture and sports» in a medical university more specifically, selecting training tools that contribute not only to the solution of the general goals of the discipline, but also to the development of professionally significant qualities and abilities to minimize negative effects of the environment on the doctor’s body in the future.
