EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF BOOKMAKER COMPANIES ON THE RUSSIAN SPORTS ECONOMY

The article shows the results of the research on the influence of bookmaker companies on the economy of Russian sports: through what channels bookmakers finance sports tournaments, federations, leagues and clubs; how the allocated financial resources affect the development of individual sports. The main methods of the research were the analysis of reported information and its synthesis, literature review, modeling and statistical analysis. As a result of this study, it was concluded that bookmaker companies have a significant impact on the Russian sports industry in terms of its funding through sponsorship deals and earmarked contributions. Most of the support is received by federations, leagues and clubs in popular game sports, among which soccer, hockey and basketball stand out. If betting companies maintain their current profitability, their support for Russian sports and their influence on the sports economy will continue to increase.
