ASSESSMENT OF ARTISTIC GIFTEDNESS OF 6-7 YEAR OLD GIRLS DURING SELECTION IN RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS

The research purpose: to develop diagnostic tools for assessing the artistic talent of girls for selection into initial training groups in rhythmic gymnastics and to substantiate the correctness of their use in sports practice.

Methods and organization of the research. During the study, the following methods of scientific knowledge were used: analysis and synthesis of scientific, methodological and research literature; questionnaires, expert assessment, control tests, methods of mathematical statistics.

Results and their discussion. The presented diagnostic tools include the criteria – “natural liveliness”, “motor expressiveness”, “emotional expressiveness”, “musicality”, as well as their characteristics and rating scales (their correctness is due to the fact that the measurement of the manifestation of artistic talent is carried out not in points, but in qualitative characteristics). As a means, game tasks and tests that are understandable for children of this age are offered.

Conclusion. The artistic talent of the 6-7 year old girls of the primary training group participating in the research is manifested according to individual characteristics; the indicators of this talent, identified on the basis of the developed diagnostics, correlate with their competitive result and, therefore, can be used in the practice of rhythmic gymnastics.
