Article
The research purpose is to study the spatial characteristics of swimming technique «the angle of attack» in different phases of the cycle of hand movements in front crawl among university team swimmers in comparison with the model characteristics presented in the specialized literature.
Methods and organization of research. The study was conducted on the basis of the educational and training complex of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Education (MSAPE). Qualified swimmers of the MSAPE swimming team took part in it. To determine the required data – the range of changes in the angle of attack of qualified swimmers of the University team, taking into account the phase of the cycle of hand movements in the front crawl, the athletes overcame a 25 m segment with maximum intensity from the start. Its passage was accompanied by underwater photography, and then the video was processed using special software. The freeze frames determined the angle of attack during various phases of the cycle of hand movements in the front crawl. Three complete cycles of movements were used for the data, average values were determined for further analysis and generalization. The obtained data were compared with the model characteristics presented in the specialized literature and with the data of a highly qualified athlete.
The results of the research and their discussion. As a result, the range of the angle of attack indicator for highly qualified swimmers competing in student sports was specified. According to the results presented in the article, the angle of attack indicator can be considered not only as a gradient of high speed of distance passing, but also as an indicator of the effectiveness of swimming techniques. Significant differences were revealed between female and male athletes, representatives the MSAPE swimming team. The difference between the obtained data and the data of an elite athlete and the model characteristics of the angle of attack range in the "front crawl" swimming method, presented in the specialized literature, was analyzed.
Conclusion. The results showed that the higher the athlete's sports qualification, the closer he is to the "model" range of the studied indicator. However, an analysis of the specialized literature has shown that the energy and biomechanics of swimming technique over time and the corresponding evolutionary process of the technical component, the level of special physical fitness and the increase in speed at various distances requires revision.
