Research purpose is to substantiate and develop a block program of physical education and health classes with a cognitive-activity focus for elderly women.

Methods and organization of the research: questionnaires, medical and biological methods, pedagogical and psychological testing, methods of mathematical statistics. The study was conducted in the city of Tchaikovsky, Perm region, in which 25 women aged 61 to 75 years took part.

Results of the research and their discussion. As a result of the questionnaire survey and analysis of organizational conditions, the most preferred types of physical activity for women were determined: Nordic walking, walking and Pilates. Elderly women have problems with excess weight, blood pressure, vital capacity of the lungs, development of strength and general endurance, as well as a lack of knowledge in the field of health improvement and the presence of cognitive impairment. Based on the results of the study of age, gerontological, cognitive and motivational characteristics of elderly women, a block program of physical education and health classes for elderly women with a cognitive-activity focus has been developed.

Conclusion. The experimental block program consists of theoretical and practical sections. The practical section consists of three blocks of physical activity, the content of which we have defined: joint gymnastics with elements of neurogymnastics; dynamic exercises combined with Pilates; breathing exercises; walking and Nordic walking; terrain orientation; physical exercises with various objects; dynamic games and cognitive-developmental exercises.
