FEATURES OF THE REACCLIMATIZATION PERIOD OF ATHLETES AFTER TRAINING ACTIVITIES IN THE MOUNTAINS (0.29 Mb, pdf) Read

Annotation:

The purpose of the research is to investigate practical approaches to using mountain training to effectively improve athletes' endurance in lowland conditions.

Methods and organization of the research. The material was obtained by studying and analyzing scientific literature in publications included in the scientometric databases Scopus, PubMed, RSCI, as well as interviewing elite Soviet and Russian marathon runners.

Research results and their discussion. Twenty-one articles met the inclusion criteria and were screened for data extraction. The analyzed study was compared with the opinion of elite athletes on the role of high-altitude training.

Conclusion. After returning to flat conditions, some time is required for reacclimatization, and maximum performance is achieved no earlier than the 3rd day after descent. Phase changes in performance are of a clearly individual nature, therefore, in order to achieve the best results during the reacclimatization period, it is necessary to take into account individual physiological characteristics. The intensity of training during and after staying at high altitude conditions should be carefully monitored from biomedical and pedagogical points of view in order to identify the most optimal patterns of training activity and bring athletes to a state of high competitive ability.
