Annotation:

Research purpose: to determine criteria and develop standard assessments of tourism skills and physical fitness of senior schoolchildren for sports and health tourism. 

Methods and organization of the research. Theoretical (analysis of educational, methodological, scientific literature) and empirical (pedagogical testing) methods were chosen as research methods. 
The coverage of schoolchildren was made in four zones from different secondary schools throughout the 
Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). 

The subjects of the study were 40 girls and 40 boys studying in grades 10-11.

Research results and discussion. A program of additional education for schoolchildren “Sports and health tourism” has been developed, the content of which includes tasks for training and developing tourist skills, as well as criteria for assessing their development, identifying the physical fitness of schoolchildren for a hiking trip. As part of the program, tourist events were held in general education institutions of the Republic, where schoolchildren developed their tourist skills and passed physical fitness standards.

Conclusion. The developed program of additional education for schoolchildren «Sports and health tourism» can be used in all secondary schools of this region.
