Article
The purpose of the research: to identify the level and dynamics of growth in indicators of physical development and physical fitness of epee fencers aged 11-13.
Research methods and organization. The study involved 96 athletes aged 11 to 13 years engaged in epee fencing. The increase between the age group indicators was calculated using the Brody formula. The statistical significance of differences between the indicators was assessed using the parametric method (Student's t-test).
Research results and their discussion. The article examines the level and dynamics of physical development and physical fitness of young epee fencers. The indicators of the level of physical development of those engaged in fencing are analyzed, a comparative analysis of the indicators of physical development of young fencers participating in the experiment is carried out with the indicators of physical development of adolescents in the Omsk Region and the Siberian Federal District from the 50s of the twentieth century to the present. Age-related indicators of the dynamics of the growth of physical development of young fencers 11-13 years old (4-15%) and indicators of physical fitness between 11- and 12-year-old and 12- and 13-year-old epee fencers (up to 16.9%) were obtained.
Conclusion. Timely information on physical development allows determining the adequacy of the selection of training means for athletes of different ages. Results were obtained on heterochrony in the development of the physical qualities of young fencers, which is manifested in the discrepancy in time of the periods of their formation.
