Article
The research purpose is to evaluate the running efficiency indicators and the quality of the balance function in athletes of various sports.
Methods and organization of the research. The study included athletes involved in volleyball (n=9), orienteering (n=9), basketball (n=8) and hockey (n=10). The subjects performed physical exercise with a dynamic increase of 1 km/h per minute, starting from 7 km/h on the Cosmos Quasar treadmill and using the K5 COSMED gas analyzer. The data on maximum oxygen consumption and oxygen consumption at the threshold of anaerobic metabolism were recorded. Before and after the physical activity, the body balance function was analyzed using the Stabilan 01-2 stabilographic hardware complex. To determine statistically significant differences, the Mann-Whitney criterion was used, and the Spearman criterion was used for correlation analysis.
Research results and their discussion. The study found that the quality of the balance function in athletes did not differ significantly either at rest or after physical exercise, which may be due to the fact that motor stereotypes formed in various sports do not have a significant effect on these indicators. Correlation analysis showed that the efficiency of running at the aerobic threshold in orienteering athletes had strong relationships with postural control recorded after exercise: with SV – r = 0.92 (p = 0.001), with V – r = 0.85 (p = 0.004), ELLS – r = 0.83 (p = 0.005). This may indicate the importance of controlling the vector of movement of the center of pressure in a state of fatigue to improve running efficiency.
Conclusion. The study revealed that the static balance indicators of athletes in different sports did not show statistically significant differences, but there was a relationship between running efficiency and balance control, especially in orienteering athletes after exercise
