The research purpose is to study practical ways of preparing students of physical education specialties for the implementation of sports selection methods in the context of the interrelation of various academic disciplines.
Methods and organization of research. The research used methods of theoretical analysis, archival method, pedagogical experiment and questionnaire. Within the framework of the study, additional education programs for teachers were developed, aimed at developing in the teaching staff the competencies necessary to prepare students for the implementation of the sports selection methodology. These programs have been experimentally tested and their effectiveness evaluated.
Research results and discussion. The results of the study are the development of additional education programs for teachers and their experimental approbation. The results obtained as part of the experimental testing of these programs were designed in the form of thematic planning for the inclusion of elements of the study of sports selection methodology in various training courses. During the experiment, the teachers who took part in it coordinated their work to prepare students for the implementation of the sports selection methodology, ensuring the interdisciplinary nature of the students' development of the sports selection methodology and compliance with the principle of continuity in the process of preparing students of physical education specialties for the implementation of the sports selection methodology.
Conclusion. In the course of the conducted research, the interdisciplinary nature of the issues of the sports selection methodology was confirmed and measures were taken to optimize the preparation of students of physical education specialties for the implementation of the sports selection methodology through additional training of the teaching staff.
