The research purpose: to develop and experimentally substantiate a methodology for special physical training of student team football players based on the peculiarities of competitive activity.
Methods and organization of the research. A formative experiment was conducted, in which 40 student football players participated, randomly divided into 2 groups: experimental and control. A comparative assessment of the special physical fitness of football players was carried out using a Wingate test and pedagogical testing (running 30 m, shuttle running 50 m x7 repetitions, standing jump and a Yo-Yo test).
Research results and their discussion. The methodology for special physical training of football players of student teams has been developed, using a traditional approach, focused largely on the specific competitive modes of activity of student team football players and taking into account the heterogeneity of the players in terms of physical fitness and role. The methodology was tested in a pedagogical experiment and proved its effectiveness.
Conclusion. It was revealed that the use of the methodology significantly increases the power and capacity of the anaerobic system, the level of speed, speed-strength qualities and special endurance, and ensures the superiority of the experimental group over the control group in the volume and effectiveness of technical and tactical actions.
