Article
Research purpose: to scientifically substantiate the author's approach to optimizing the physical fitness and health state of women of mature age in the Far North based on the convergence of various types of motor activity, and to experimentally prove its effectiveness.
Methods and organization of the research. The work used theoretical (analysis, synthesis, specification, generalization) and empirical (pedagogical observation, anthropometry, determination of the level of general physical fitness according to the control tests of the All-Russian physical education and sports complex "Ready for Labor and Defense" (GTO); express assessment of health status according to G.L. Apanasenko) methods.
The pedagogical experiment was carried out over one calendar year in rural areas of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with the participation of women 40-50 years old, classified according to the results of assessing their general health status to health groups I-V (n = 100) (the method of G. L. Apanasenko).
Research results. The author's approach to optimizing the physical fitness and health status of women of mature age in the Far North, based on the convergence of various types of physical motor activity, helps to optimize physical status; improve health; increase the physical fitness of women of mature age; develop their competencies in organizing physical activity and ability withstand living in the harsh conditions of the northern region; develop an interest in leading an active lifestyle, which generally creates favorable conditions for improving the quality of life in the extreme conditions of the Far North.
