The purpose of the study was to identify outdoor games that are attractive to preschoolers and to systematize data on their popularity in different regions of Russia.
Research methods. Analysis of the results of scientific research and pedagogical experience; observations, conversations, surveys of kindergarten teachers, expert evaluation, and ranking.
Research results. According to the survey results, the basic set of games («The Bear in the Forest,» «The Geese-Swans,» and «Towns») is dominant in all studied regions of Russia, which indicates the preservation of the country's unified cultural and pedagogical code.
A clear age-related dynamics of changing game preferences has been established: from imitative games with a simple signal in younger age to complex team competitions and games with elements of sports in senior preschool age. The experience of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has shown the effectiveness of biculturalism, in which Russian folk games are organically complemented by national Yakut practices.
Conclusions. The mobile games of the peoples of Russia are a universal tool for socialization and physical development, providing a balance between physical activity, the formation of cognitive functions, and the development of communication skills. The synthesis of national traditions and modern pedagogical approaches allows not only to strengthen health, stimulate physical activity, and improve physical fitness, but also to form spiritual values, national identity, and skills for collective interaction. To overcome the trend of destroying the play space of childhood, it is necessary to introduce structured and varied content of traditional games into the educational process, including the mobile games of the peoples of Russia, which are adapted to the regional characteristics and the level of complexity of perception by children of different age groups.
