THE ESSENCE OF PHYSICAL FITNESS AND WELLNESS PROGRAMS IN UNIVERSITY PHYSICAL EDUCATION SYSTEMS (0.4 Mb, pdf) Read

Annotation:

The purpose of this study is to clarify the essence of physical fitness and wellness programs (PFWP) in the physical education system of university students. 

Research methods. Theoretical and methodological analysis and literature review, systemic and structural-functional analysis, object-process modeling, logical and content reconstruction, and conceptual modeling. 

Research results. The relationship between the concepts of "physical education and health activities", "physical education and health technologies", "fitness programs", and "physical education and health programs" is revealed. A two-level understanding of physical fitness and wellness programs (narrow and broad) is substantiated, and a refined upper-level structural and functional model of the physical education system is proposed, including physical education activities and programs. 

Conclusions. The essence of physical fitness and wellness programs is represented by a personality-oriented pedagogical system of physical education, which ensures the formation of students' physical culture personality and subjectivity, as well as their systematic physical education and health activities to achieve personal health benefits.
