The purpose of the research is to conduct a comparative analysis of the contribution of various physical qualities to ensuring a sports result in individual types of martial arts based on the study of the Federal Standards of Sports Training.
Methods and organization of the research. The data from the Federal Standards of Sports Training were used, which from 2007 until recently included a point assessment of the influence of physical qualities and physique on performance.
Research results and their discussion. For martial arts, the following was revealed: 1) consolidated opinion on the weak influence of physique on performance; 2) consolidated opinion on the high degree of influence of speed on performance; 3) opinion on the average influence of flexibility on performance; 4) lack of a consolidated opinion on the influence of strength, endurance and coordination on performance; 5) opinion on a higher degree of influence of vestibular stability on performance than flexibility, coordination and strength.
Analysis of the scoring system itself allows us to assume that this scoring system is based on a methodological approach, rather than on empirical data, and requires adjustment. The scoring scale used also seems unsuccessful.
Conclusion. It has been established that a significant number of martial arts (mainly wrestling and striking-contact) require complex development of all physical qualities to improve performance, while semi- or non-contact striking martial arts do not require this.
