Article
The purpose of the research is to identify and characterize the main functional indicators characterizing athletic success in arm wrestling.
Methods and organization of research. A study was conducted of the bioelectrical activity of the muscles of the upper limb girdle, maximum and average strength, peak arm power and the time to achieve it in male and female arm wrestlers using BMViewer software (Neurosoft, Russia) and Neurosens wireless sensors, the NS-Psychotest 2.0 hardware computer complex (Russia) and manual bicycle ergometer Monark Cardio Rehab 891E, respectively.
Research results and their discussion. The results of the study demonstrated the importance of studying the bioelectric activity of the upper limb girdle muscles, grip strength, strength endurance, peak arm power and the time to achieve it in arm wrestling athletes. A direct correlation has been established between the athletic qualifications of female arm wrestlers and the values of the maximum muscle strength of the left (r = 0.666) and right (r = 0.640) arms, as well as the average maximum muscle strength (r = 0.679). Examples of original recordings of the study of electromyography of the upper limb girdle muscles of a male arm wrestler during a simulated duel, the dynamics of changes in grip strength and strength endurance of a female arm wrestler during the Dynamometry test, a study of the peak arm power and the time it was achieved by a male arm wrestler during the Wingate test are given.
Conclusion. Functional indicators characterizing athletic success in arm wrestling have been determined, including the values of bioelectrical activity of the muscles of the upper limb girdle, grip strength, strength endurance, peak arm power and time to achieve it.
