The article presents an analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the issues of analyzing competitive activity in boxing and chess, describes the features of the rules for holding competitions and determining winners in chessboxing, highlights the features of chessboxing as a sport, various tactics for conducting a fight and competitive activity in chessboxing. Based on this, criteria relevant for assessing competitive activity in chessboxing were identified and developed.

The research purpose is to identify indicators and criteria for the analysis and evaluation of competitive activity in chessboxing, and to conduct a comparative analysis of competitive activity in chessboxing using the identified indicators.

Methods and organization of research. Based on the proposed criteria for analyzing the competitive activity of chessboxing athletes, fourteen of the longest fights held within the 5th World Chessboxing Championship 2023 in Riccione (Italy) were analyzed. The following methods were used: literature review, observation, one-way ANOVA and mathematical statistics methods.

Research results and their discussion. As a result of the analysis of fights and the interpretation of the data obtained, it was found that athletes who lose in chess tend to strike more blows, attack more, strike more forcefully in order to try to win the fight ahead of schedule in boxing rounds. While athletes who win in chess do not take risks, strike fewer blows, in particular, the athletes who win the match defend more successfully. In addition, the athletes who win the match spend on average less time making a move in the first round (in chess).
