The research purpose is to provide a correct (from the point of view of semantics and logic of constructing terms) justification of the concepts of "personal subjectivity in physical culture" and "personal subjectivity in sports (sports activity)" and to present the basic characteristic of the concept of "personal subjectivity in physical culture".
Research methods: theoretical and methodological analysis of published works on the problem of the manifestation of personal subjectivity in physical culture and sports activities in terms of the development of terminology and thesaurus in the field of physical culture and sports.
The research results and their discussion. The presented results correspond to the directions of research in scientific specialties 5.8.4 "Physical culture and professional physical training" (direction 4.2) and 5.8.5 "Theory and methodology of sports" (direction 5.4) – development of terminology and thesaurus in the field of physical culture and sports. The author's interpretation of the concept of "personal subjectivity in physical culture and recreational activities" opens up new perspectives in the theoretical and methodological understanding of the existing experience of pedagogical research and pedagogical practice in acquiring subjectivity in sports and recreational activities for students and in a more objective (from theoretical and methodological point of view) assessment of the proposed methods, techniques and technologies of physical culture and recreational activities according to the degree of influence on the acquisition of subjectivity of those engaged in this activity.
Conclusion. In fact, a new theoretical and methodological basis is proposed for conducting relevant research in accordance with the recommendations of the Russian Academy of Education and the Higher Attestation Commission of Russian Federation on designing the process of mastering physical culture by various age groups of students (including those with different psychophysiological characteristics and different levels of physical fitness) with a focus on education among its participants subjectivity based on solid theoretical and methodological knowledge, and not subjectivist ideas about how the personality subjectivity should look like in physical culture and recreational activities.
