The purpose of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the author's method of comprehensive running training in football for athletes aged 11-12 years.

Methods and organization of research. The pilot study was conducted from September 2020 to May 2022 with the participation of 43 adolescents aged 11-12 years. The control group of 21 people was engaged in a standard program. The experimental group used the author's method of comprehensive running training during general physical training classes.
A set of indicators was used to assess the effectiveness of football players' running training: 1) integrative coefficient of endurance according to the Kvass formula; 2) standards recommended by the Russian Football Union for assessing the functional readiness of athletes at the initial stage of sports specialization; 3) quality indicators based on the results of control matches (average running time per match for the entire team, excluding the goalkeeper; number of runs per match performed by team players; number of duels won at speed).
Indicators of descriptive statistics (median values and indicators of dynamics statistics (growth rate, %) were used to represent the data obtained, and the calculation of the Student's t-test was used to verify the reliability of the changes that occurred.

The results of the research and their discussion. The author's method of running training in football for athletes aged 11-12, implemented in a complex within the framework of general physical training and individual exercises, makes it possible to effectively influence important components in the structure of running readiness of young football players, guaranteeing them competitive advantages in competitive activities.

Conclusion. The developed method of running training of football players aged 11-12 years allows solving the urgent task of the comprehensive development of physical qualities, taking into account their impact on the effectiveness of individual actions in the game and can be extrapolated to other age groups, as well as used for running training of young basketball players, handball players and rugby players.
