The research purpose is to identify indicators of competitive activity of student football teams that determine the success of the game, based on the analysis of InStat statistical reports.

Methods and organization of the research. We studied the games of the regular championship of the National Student Football League (NSFL) of the 2017-2018 season, in which 16 teams of the Top Division took part. Two-factor analysis of variance and a two-sample t-test were used.

Results of the research and their discussion. The analysis of the competitive activity of the teams showed that the general characteristics of the modern game are inherent in student football in Russia, namely: the specificity of actions with the ball included in the structure of competitive activity, where passes occupy a significant place (46.17%) as the basis of tactical team interactions; the significant role of individual actions in the fight for the ball. The factor "success of the game" has a significant impact on the structure of the student team’s technical and tactical actions (TTA) where achieving victory is possible regardless of the order of play in the round.

Conclusion. It has been determined that in order to achieve a result in the game, the team must surpass the opponent in the number of passes, their accuracy, as well as the effectiveness of individual actions: duels, tackles and groundmoves.
