Mass media plays a significant role in shaping our views. Sometimes the information contained in mass media is deliberately presented in such way that it encourages us to believe in certain things or to get a certain opinion on certain events. The role of regional mass media in shaping public opinion and attracting attention of the audience to sport subjects is up-to-date. Today mass media represent the developed social institution which can considerably affect both community and personal development. There are dozens of examples where public opinion was formed and changed being influenced by mass media, which transformed behavior and lifestyle. Therefore, it is important to learn to use the Internet, newspapers, radio and television to solve the hot problems of "Physical culture and sport" industry. This article shows the results of content analysis of mass media of the Republic of Tatarstan actively covering sport subjects in recent years. It is necessary to actively promote physical culture and sports through media channels. This is very important for the country as a whole.
