The purpose of the work was to study and compare the statokinesiogram parameters during recurve bow and compound bow shooting.

Methods and organization. The study involved 12 athletes, including 6 recurve bow shooters and 6 compound bow shooters. A bilateral stabilographic test was performed during archery. The time interval corresponding to the "loading" phase was analyzed.

The main results. A stabilographic parameters comparative analysis when performing shots with different bows designs showed that the load distribution asymmetry of the legs was 70.05% in recurve bow and 34.91% in case of compound bow shooting. During recurve bow the stabilogram ellipse area was larger compared to a compound bow shooting. Also, the frontal axis statokinesiogram trajectory length was longer for the recurve bow shooters and on the saggital, vice versa, was less. The pressure center average and linear velocity oscillation during recurve bow was almost twice higher than values obtained during compound bow shooting.

Conclusion. For recurve bow shooters, most of the load falls on the left leg, while for compound bow shooters it is distributed relatively evenly. Recurve bow shooters showed higher statokinesiograms parameters values, which explained by the bow design features and the shot technique. Thus, during recurve bow observed much lower maintaining vertical pose stability in comparasion to compound bow shooting case.
