The research purpose is to analyze the mas-wrestling competition and develop amendments and additions to international rules to create equal conditions for athletes.
Methods and organization of the research. The analysis of the materials of the 2022 mas-wrestling championship of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) among men and women and written protests of the judging panel and the competition doctor, a survey of athletes and coaches were made to identify paragraphs and articles in the international rules of mas-wrestling that cause a lot of protests from coaches and seconds, create unequal conditions for athletes and lead to injuries during the competition.
Results and their discussion. Based on the results of a survey of coaches, athletes, written protests from the panel of judges, athletes' appeals to the competition doctor, we have identified the following articles in the international rules of mas-wrestling that require changes or additions: Article 4. «Sports disciplines»; article 5. “Equipment and paraphernalia of athletes”, article 26 “Beginning, course and end of the fight”, paragraph 29.1 “Prohibited actions and techniques”. To create equal conditions for athletes, we have developed recommendations for making changes and additions to the international rules of mas-wrestling. To test these changes and additions, we implemented them into the competitive process. A number of republican scale competitions were chosen, which served as an experimental platform for testing: the tournaments of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «New Names» and «For the prizes of absolute champions – natives of the Amga region.» During the testing of the introduction of amendments and additions to the international rules, we compared two indicators: filing of a protest and injury of an athlete – with those indicators of the championship of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), which was held according to the international rules of mas-wrestling. Comparison of the results of the competition revealed that the proposed changes and additions made it possible to reduce protests and injuries to athletes by several times.
Conclusion. The developed changes and additions to the international rules of mas-wrestling contributed to the reduction of protests by seconds, representatives and athletes, the time of the competition, and the reduction of injuries to athletes. For further development of the amendments and additions of the Republican mas-wrestling Federation, it is necessary to submit and approve them at a meeting of the All-Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation, which should make these proposals at the conference of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.
