For today, information technologies are being actively introduced not only in professional sports, but also in the field of physical culture for the most accurate assessment of the capabilities of those involved, taking into account their personal characteristics.

The purpose of the research is to identify the specifics of the use of modern information technologies in the organization and management of the field of physical culture and sports.

Methods and organization of the research. As part of the study of the topic stated in the study, the authors used sociological methods to assess the extent to which students use information technology in the educational process. The monitoring involved 310 students from six universities.

The research results. In the presented work, the authors analyzed the answers of students who, for the most part (71%), were unanimous in the opinion that today without the use of digital technologies the training process will be less productive, and, accordingly, it will be more difficult to achieve a significant effect from training and get a high result.

Conclusion. The use of information technology for sports is quite popular among students of domestic universities. In addition to fitness bracelets and smart watches, students often use video lessons to learn new training systems, as well as digital applications for athletes. This indicates a conscious desire to improve their physical fitness, and also shows the students' understanding of the value of their health.
