The research purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of the experimental program-content support for professionally applied physical training of medical students studying in the specialty «General medicine».

Research methods. The following methods were used to conduct the research: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical experiment, pedagogical testing, psychological testing, mathematical statistics.

The results of the research and their discussion. According to the data obtained in the course of the study, medical students of the experimental group, who were engaged in experimental program-content research with an emphasis on professional-applied physical training, by the end of the experiment had better indicators of the development of professional psychophysical qualities than their peers from the control group. Classes were held in accordance with the working program of the discipline developed with a focus on a health-saving approach. At the same time, it should be emphasized that at the end of the study, statistically significant intergroup differences were noted in almost all tests (p<0,05), with the exception of the «Leaning forward from a standing position on a gymnastic bench» test in favor of the experimental group.

Conclusion. According to the results of the study, we can conclude that a professionally oriented approach is more effective for the development of the most important psychophysical qualities of female medical students studying in the specialty «General medicine». Thus, the increase in the development of physical qualities and motor abilities in the experimental group was in the range from 6,5 to 23%, which significantly exceeds the increase in the control group. The increase in indicators of psychological capabilities in the experimental group was in the range from 13 to 33,3%, which also exceeds the increase in the indicators of the control group. All of the above indicates that the implementation of a practical discipline in physical education with an emphasis on professionally applied physical training is an effective form of pedagogical influence for high-quality professional training of future district physicians.
