The purpose of the research was to establish patterns of occurrence and development of skin infectious diseases in wrestlers in the light of the epidemic process.

Methods and organization of the research: collection of information and analysis of literary sources, description, comparison and generalization of data published for the period from 1962 to August 2022.

Results and discussion. It has been established that the main sources of skin infectious diseases in wrestlers are the athletes themselves and, less often, animals. The decisive driving force behind the spread of skin infectious diseases in athletes is the contact (direct and indirect) mechanism of infection transmission. In addition to the main driving forces of the epidemic process, the conditions for its development are important, which are natural and social factors that affect the state of immunity and susceptibility of wrestlers to infection, such as training and competitive activities, leading to a decrease in protective forces. The most common infections among wrestlers are: fungal infections (ringworm and multicolored lichen, microsporia, onychomycosis), viral infections (herpes, molluscum contagiosum), bacterial infections (impetigo, dry streptoderma, erythrasma). Based on the analyzed data, a diagram of the epidemic process of the spread of skin infectious diseases in wrestlers was drawn up.

Conclusion: the emergence and continuous course of the epidemic process of the spread of skin infectious diseases in wrestlers occurs as a result of the interaction of the source of infectious agents (athletes themselves) and the susceptible organism through the contact mechanism of transmission. To prevent the emergence and development of the epidemic process, it is necessary to carry out preventive measures, mainly aimed at eliminating the possibility of participation of an infected athlete.
