The research purpose is to establish and test methods for the development of mental and physical qualities in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using the sensory-dynamic hall “Owl House”.
Methods and organization of the research. 45 children with ASD were examined, parents of children with ASD were surveyed. The analysis of psychophysical indicators was carried out according to 7 control tests and the results obtained were compared with the norm according to these tests. The attitude of parents of children with ASD to physical exercises was studied.
Results and discussion. The presence of deviations from the norm in the development of mental and physical qualities in children with ASD, theoretically described and substantiated in the scientific and methodological literature, has been established.
Taking into account the identified features of the development of mental and physical qualities of children with autism spectrum disorder, an experimental method of development was created using the sensory-dynamic hall “Owl House” and tested in a pedagogical experiment for 6 months.
Conclusion. The introduction of experimental methods contributed to improving the indicators of psychophysical qualities of children.
