To obtain reliable and conclusive results of the experiment, we decided to analyze the motivation of students to swimming lessons at the lessons of physical culture in the second year of study at the University – while studying the topic of swimming, a year after the end of the topic "Swimming" in the third year, and after the end of study of discipline "Physical culture" in the fourth year. The results of the study conducted with students of the fourth year, it can be stated that during class with them on the author's program, created a potential culture of competitive swimming, which consists in the knowledge of how to swim, to master the basic techniques of swimming and desire to swim in the hereafter.
