Annotation:

The article deals with the peculiarities of muscle power, general principles of its development, exercises providing the playing strength; determines the most important functions of common and specific muscle power for a football-player. It also deals with the main types of muscle function; gives a thorough analysis of different components of the notion ‘strength training’ (basic strength, striking power, jumping power, confrontation strength, starting strength, mixed strength); methodology of general strength training; methodology of maximum strength development; methodology of ‘fast’ strength development; methodology of explosive power development; methodology of strength endurance. It also determines the factors that impact achieving high results.
