The article presents the results of the development and practical testing of a prototype video analysis system for the objective assessment of biomechanical parameters in archers' technique.

The research purpose is to develop and provide a scientific-methodological foundation for a video analysis system capable of evaluating and diagnosing key biomechanical parameters of archers' technique at various stages of shot execution to enhance the effectiveness of the training process.

Methods and research organization. The study was conducted at the Regional Archery Center. At the theoretical stage, an analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the biomechanics of archery and existing sports video analysis technologies was carried out. The system configuration was determined, and an algorithm for processing video data based on computer vision methods for automatic tracking of body key points was developed. The experimental stage involved video recording of shots performed by highly qualified archers using a recurve bow (5 shots each at an 18-meter distance). Participants included members of the Buryatia Republic national team aged 16-29 years (8 males and 7 females).

Results and discussion. The obtained video data were processed using the developed computer vision algorithms. It was established that higher-qualified athletes (Masters of Sport, Masters of Sport International Class) exhibit more stable and predictable movement trajectories during preparatory phases, which minimizes oscillatory movements before the crucial drawing phase. For Candidate Masters of Sport, greater trajectory dispersion was observed, indicating a less refined motor skill and the presence of latent technical flaws.

Conclusion. The testing of the video analysis system prototype confirmed its practical applicability and effectiveness. The system represents a novel tool for the objective diagnostics of technique, enabling the identification of subtle errors that are difficult to detect through visual observation, individualizing training sessions based on objective data, and monitoring the dynamics of technical changes during the training process.
