The paper presents a comparative analysis of the two existing running high jump “Fosbury-flop” models substantiating the importance of individual technique elements: quick active pull-up take-off leg provides a reduction in the moment of inertia and increase the angular velocity of rotation of the jumper's body over the bar; holding the swing leg in the up position while approaching the body to the bar makes pulling up take-off leg easier; high feet position at the top point of GCM trajectory helps a jumper to take away the body from the bar; widely spread thighs in over the bar position reduce the possibility of unwanted body rotation around the longitudinal axis.
