Annotation:

The article analyzes and summarizes contemporary scientific views presented in the foreign publications on issue of the sustainable development of sports in the urban zones. It contains a review of mainly English-language sources, which reveal the focus of urban planning in the context of sports. It identifies and analyzes such objectives of the planning activities in the city, as the promotion of healthy lifestyles, development of intellectual potential, development of social capital, social integration, reducing crime in the city.
