The issue of considering sport interests of the middle school students

Аннотация: The experimental survey included questionnaire carried out among schoolchildren of 5 – 9 years of study at five secondary schools of Krasnodar. The survey was aimed at the definition of a variable component of program material on physical training. The list of popular kinds of physical activities and sports was offered to the schoolchildren, so that they could choose those that could be included into PT lessons curriculum. The survey demonstrated that actually boys of the middle school age prefer football, basketball and volleyball. The sport interests of girls turned to be significantly wider: volleyball, basketball, sport dancing, gymnastics, fitness, swimming, acrobatics and athletics. At the same time it was revealed that students do not change their sport priorities during middle school period. The obtained data can be used by PT educators when developing content of a variable component of programs. It has been determined that the sport interests of boys and girls are considerably different. Revealed gender peculiarities of sport interests reflect the need for development of two separate program materials on physical education for boys and girls.
