Аннотация: Professional activity of Special Forces officers of Russia imposes more and more strict requirements to their physical fitness. During operative-service activities the specified category of officers endure extremely heavy and long physical efforts demanding maximum mobilization of body functions and good physical fitness. Significant requirements for carrying out official activities of Special Forces personnel include willingness to secure personal and public safety, to struggle with well-trained offenders and criminals, both mentally and physically, using theoretical knowledge, practical skills and motor abilities. These factors are followed by high requirements for physical fitness and excellence of internal affairs officers. The list of Special Forces duties include community policing, crowd control during large public events, protection of special and public facilities, responding to fire incidents, escorting, and in particular cases – pursuit, arrest, fire attacking of offenders and criminals. In this regard the high physical fitness is one of the major requirements imposed to them, and the essential issue is identification of the physical qualities which are significant for professional activity.
